Parhelion Spring Series Races 8 & 9 and Prize-giving

The final two races in this Spring's Parhelion Series were held today in the Eastern Solent. Sixteen yachts competed in three classes. Prizes were awarded by PSC Vice-Commodore Robin Townsend. Photos of the prize-giving are available on the Images page.

Parhelion Spring Series 2005

A reminder that the prize-giving for this series will take place on completion of racing on Saturday, at Portsmouth Sailing Club, nominally between 1530 to 1600, depending on race finish times, etc. As usual we will be operating the RIB ferry service, which can be reached on Ch. 72. As there will be more of you than usual coming over the Club on Saturday, it may take a little more time for the RIB to reach you, but please bear with us and we will try to get to everyone as soon as possible. There will also be a light buffet and the bar will of course be open as usual.

Reefers & Roses

To remind members, PSC's Annual Reefers & Roses event will take place on Sunday 24 April. For those not familiar with it, it is a Sunday lunchtime celebration of St George's Day with a complimentary glass of wine (or 2 - if you're lucky!), a light buffet and a buttonhole red rose.

Dress is, naturally Reefer (or Blazer) for the gentlemen (PSC ties on sale for those who don't have one) and an opportunity to dress up a bit for the ladies.

It's a convivial opportunity to meet other members.

The price is the same as last year at £6.50 and the event will run from 1230 until the Bar shuts (1500).

Please can you pay in advance, at the Bar, as it makes it much easier to know how many we are catering for.

GK24 Owners Association

The newly formed GK24 Owners Association has put its weight behind PSC's Parhelion Spring Series 2005, with four GK24s in the Club class. PSC is very enthusiastic about this new Association forming close ties to club racing from the start, and we would be delighted to welcome more entries. With enough boats, class racing is very real possibility and represent a fantastic start for the new Owners Association.
