Frostbite Dinghy Series 2007 Race 4 Cancellation
Conditions – SE wind gusting
38 knots.
The weather is not being kind to the Series, this being the third
race we have lost. Hopefully the competitors will not be
disheartened and still turn up for remainder of the series, which
has been extended by two races finishing on 16th December with Prize Giving at PSC after
the last race.

Addition to
Programme
3 of the 6 races originally programmed have now been lost due to
the weather so the Sailing Committee have decided to extend the
programme by adding 2 more races:
Race 7 – 9th
December
Race 8 – 16th
December
Prize Giving will take place in PSC after the last race.
Frostbite 2007 Sailing Instructions
The Sailing Instructions for the
Frostbite Dinghy Series 2007 have been amended to read:
"Shortening Course: The course
may be shortened when the lead boat approaches any mark of the
course. This shall be signalled by displaying of Flag S accompanied
by 2 sound signals by the committee boat. A safety boat will, if
possible, be positioned at the mark to advise competitors of the
shortened course. After rounding the mark boats must then proceed
to the finishing line from the direction of that mark."
The amended Sailing Instructions are available on the Download page.
Frostbite Dinghy Series 2007 Race 3 Cancellation
Conditions - N.W. wind of F6 gusting
F7. It was not possible to use the option of Course D and race in
the waters adjacent to the Royal Naval Sailing Centre (as in Race
1) because due to the wind direction these waters were far from
sheltered. The OOD in consultation with Ken Bichard of the RNSC
made to decision to cancel the race.

Race Night - postponed from Saturday 20th October
Parhelion Autumn Series 2007 - Final Weekend Correction
Rules included for reference:
A8 SERIES TIES
A8.1 If there is a series score tie between two or more boats, each boat’s
race scores shall be listed in order of best to worst, and at the first
point(s) where there is a difference the tie shall be broken in favour of
the boat(s) with the best score(s). No excluded scores shall be used.
A8.2 If a tie remains between two or more boats, they shall be ranked
in order of their scores in the last race. Any remaining ties shall be
broken by using the tied boats’ scores in the next-to-last race and so
on until all ties are broken. These scores shall be used even if some of
them are excluded scores.
The first two places in Club Class are not affected. All the scores in all the races for the series are recalculated after each new race and any changes to fleets. Revised results have now been posted on Yacht Results page.
