IRC Solent Series 2012
Portsmouth Sailing Club is hosting a weekend regatta as part of this year's IRC Solent Series, organised by the Solent IRC Owners Association and the SCRA. The IRC Solent Series Championships are a series of seven one-day events held during the summer months in the Solent Area. The Championship is open to boats with a valid IRC certificate and an IRC rating between 0.820 and 1.360. The fleet will be split into 4 classes with the following rating bands to be confirmed:
Class 1 1.040 - 1.360
Class 2 1.000 - 1.039
Class 3 0.927 - 0.999
Class 4 0.820 - 0.926
There will be overall Series trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each class. The IRC Solent Series Champion will be selected regardless of class, and will hold the overall trophy for the top boat in the Series. The Series Prize giving will be held at the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club at 4pm on 29th October 2011.

Provisional dates for 2012
Seven days of close racing with seven top Solent clubs in the 2012 Solent Series.
Spanning the full length of the Solent from the Nab Tower race in the East to the Royal Solent Regatta off Yarmouth, this series aims to encourage larger fleets of IRC-rated yachts in a wide range of competitive racing.
Post-race hospitality at each host club provides the opportunity to experience the unique atmosphere of each, as well as socialising with your fellow competitors.

May 12th - Royal Southampton YC - Clarkson Cup
June 9th - Royal Southern YC - June Regatta
July 28th - Royal Solent YC - Tattinger Regatta
August 4th - Royal Yacht Squadron - Pre-Cowes event
Sep 1st - Portsmouth Sailing Club
Sep 22nd - Island SC - Nab Tower race
Sep 23rd - Royal Corinthian YC - Tiny Mitchell Regatta
