As some of our competitors have brought to our attention, there is an error in the Notice of Race concerning discards. The line explaining the discards in the event of 10 or 11 races being sailed is missing. As the Sailing Instructions relate to a part of the NoR which is incomplete, Amendment 1 to the Sailing Instructions has been issued and contains the full discard profile. Amendment 1 is available

The first of this month's two RYA Race Officer courses will take place, tonight Tuesday 6th October. The second course will be on the 20th, also a Tuesday. Both courses will run from 7pm until 10pm. PSC is not charging for this course, however the RYA charge £30 for it, payable on the night. More details available below. The Notice of Race, IRC and Club Class entry forms, and the required Port Marine Safety Code Risk Assessment are now available from the Downloads page. Please be aware that the entry form has been split into two forms, one for IRC and one for Club Class. The Club Class form requests more measurement data than in previous years. This will be used in a trial run of a new rating calculation system to be used concurrently with our present system. If successful, and pending feedback from the competitors, the new system will be rolled out for the Spring 2010 series.

On Thursday 5 March 2009 there will be an unavoidable server outage while Hostspace, the company which hosts portsmouthsc.co.uk, migrate their Windows hosting network to a new datacentre. The outage is planned to start at 10pm on Thursday 5 March and finish at 6.30pm Friday 6 March. The outage will affect the website and the email servers.
