Portsmouth Sailing Club is hosting a weekend regatta as part of this year's IRC Solent Series, organised by the Solent IRC Owners Association and the SCRA. The IRC Solent Series Championships are a series of seven one-day events held during the summer months in the Solent Area. The Championship is open to boats with a valid IRC certificate and an IRC rating between 0.820 and 1.360. The fleet will be split into 4 classes with the following rating bands:

Class 1 1.040 - 1.360
Class 2 1.000 - 1.039
Class 3 0.927 - 0.999
Class 4 0.820 - 0.926

There will be overall Series trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each class. The IRC Solent Series Champion will be selected regardless of class, and will hold the overall trophy for the top boat in the Series. The Series Prize giving will be held at the Royal Southern Yacht Club at 4pm on 23rd October 2010.

IRC Day 2 - Royal Southern Yacht Club
IRC Solent Series Championship 2010 - Day 2

The Royal Southern Midsummer Regatta comprises 2 races in the Central Solent, with the results combined for Day 2 of the IRC Solent Series.

All competitors are welcome back to the Royal Southern clubhouse where the bar will be open and prizes will be awarded. Berthing can be reserved via the Royal Southern on their club moorings, or at one of the nearby Hamble marinas. In the evening there will be a Hog Roast Buffet to which all racers and guests will be welcome.
