    Autumn Parhelion Week 3

The third Parhelion Saturday was held in very breezy conditions this week. Fleet numbers were, not surprisingly, down a little from previous weeks and several boats suffered gear failure and headed home early. Two races were set, the first extending to around 2 hours but providing some extremely close results with Easy Tiger 2 beating One More Knot in the Club fleet by just 6 seconds. Club and IRC results here

    Autumn Parhelion Day 2

The PSC Parhelion fleet had a couple of interesting races this morning; no sunshine but a fluky breeze with some holes in around some heavy clouds and rain. Race Officer Daryl Bowles set both races with initial legs from Gleeds towards N Sturbridge; during the first heavy rain played havoc with the find speed and direction - however One More Knot managed to play the shifts (and holes) well to open up a lead

    Autumn Parhelion Day 1

The first two races of the Autumn Parhelion Series were held in beautiful sunshine and southerly breeze last Saturday. Race Officer Ricky Hodgeson established a start in the vicinity of racing mark KB Drystack and set courses of around 7 miles that kept the competitors busy between the forts and Gilkicker but avoiding the Imperial Poona YC and Victory Class who were 'racing' just off the Haslar Wall! Familiar boats dominated the front of the

    Contessa 32 Weekend

PSC hosted the Contessa 32 fleet for the first event of their 2017 race series over the weekend of 13/14 May. The club ran two races on the Saturday, provided a class meal in the JA Room on Saturday evening and a further race on Sunday. It was an exceptionally successful weekend; the weather was kind, the racing competitive and fun, and the food and hospitality that PSC members provided on Saturday evening was

    Parhelion Spring 2017 Series Complete

The final two races of the Spring 2017 series were completed (on Sat 22 Apr) in beautiful sunny conditions with a steady 12 kts from the North East. Race officer Ricky Hodgson set two courses that kept the fleets busy in the triangle between Gilkicker and the Spit Sand Fort, however the highlight (for some!) was the downwind start for the final race.

    Parhelion - 4th Saturday - 8 April

The penultimate Saturday of the Spring Parhelion series started with fog horns and discussions with QHM over fog routines and finished with sun cream and a pleasant easterly breeze. The immediate concerns facing the race team on board Mary Siobhan were whether there was sufficient visibility to start a race and whether there was enough wind to get the fleet away. The race officer (Daryl Bowles) elected to start both divisions together and the
