    Windy weekend afloat and on the Rowans Hospice Charity Cycle Ride!

    A team of hardy PSC members defied the wind and rain this weekend to take part in the Rowans Hospice charity ride. This event is now a regular fixture in the PSC calendar.     A Great Cowes Week and more this summer/autumn!

    Portsmouth SC members were well represented at a windy Cowes Week 2019! Five PSC Squibs competed with David Lloyd gaining one race win and second overall for the series. Chris Rust and James Vineer were fifth. In the Victory Class PSC members Geoff Dixon and David Price with third crew member Hugh Winter won their Class in Zelia, 70 years old this year!     A Busy Summer At PSC With Lots More To Come!

    This has been a busy summer so far and despite the extensive renovation and refurbishment work that has been taking place on the Clubhouse (now almost complete) members have enjoyed a number of social events including a Gin Tasting (thanks Portsmouth Distillery), Cocktail evening and meat raffles. The cruising fraternity have enjoyed rallies to Cherbourg, Swanwick, Island Harbour and Littlehampton and the racing sailors have made an impression at a number of events;

    International Tempest Class Southern Championships

    Portsmouth SC hosted the Tempest 'Southerns' over the weekend 11/12 May. Competitors travelled from across the country (as far north as Warrington and the Peak District) and were launched using the PSC crane at the Camber. With the club house refurbishment underway the fleet were based in Hornet SC throughout the weekend but a PSC race team organised racing from committee boat Mary Siobhan.     Documentation for this year's Spring Race series for the Parhelion trophies will be published shortly. Dates shown in the calendar area of this website.     Planning is underway to develop an interesting and fun sailing programme for next year.
