    Squib South Coast Championships 2018

Over the weekend 15/16 Sept the club hosted the National Squib South Coast Championships 2018. Twenty five competitors from across the country were blessed with good weather and the usual warm PSC hospitality; club members delivered excellent racing, efficient shore support with rapid launch and recovery before and after the event, comprehensive rib support and fantastic catering throughout the whole weekend. It was such a good event that we even made the national

    Sailing Facilities Upgrade

PSC's new pontoon walkway and crane are now installed and fully operational! This is a huge step forward for PSC and will permit much easier access to the water. The walkway negates the requirement to scale a slippery vertical ladder to get to and from the pontoon and the crane will allow the launch and recovery of boats without the requirement to use the slip way. The crane will provide

  • QHM Reminder - The Small Boat Channel

We have been asked to publish the following note from QHM's Safety Team with respect to the Small Boat Channel and the changes that have been made following the arrival of HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH; Ladies and Gentlemen. As regular users of the harbour it is worth an early season reminder, that with the arrival of the Queen Elizabeth Class Carrier, the General Direction

    French Rally

The May Bank Holiday Weekend saw seven PSC yachts make their way to Cherbourg for our second rally of the season. Rally Master Peter Guy had clearly managed to put his school boy French language skills to good effect with the harbourmaster's team and we were provided with excellent berths a short walk from the Capitainerie du Port's office and, more importantly, very close to the bar and restaurant! The highlight of the

  • Day Boat Wednesday Evening Series

It had been intended to start Day Boat Evening racing on Wednesday 2 May, however it has been decided to postpone the start of the series due to the delay in the installation of the crane in the Camber. Although the crane is not essential for Day Boat sailing, it's lack of availability makes launching the increased numbers of Day Boats in the Boom Yard extremely difficult, particularly for weekday evening racing. Updated dates for

    Spring Parhelion Series

The final races of this year's Spring Series will be held this Saturday 28 April. Racing will be followed by a prize giving back in the club. Having lost the Memorial Races due to fog a fortnight ago it is our intention that these will also be competed for on Saturday. Last Saturday dawned with beautiful sunshine and no wind but after a short delay a cool breeze (and cloud) filled in

    Spring Parhelion Series Day 2

Another demanding day for both the race team and competitors with a breeze fluctuating between 6 and 18 kts and veering from the SE round to the S during the races. The first race became fairly lengthy for some of the smaller members of the fleet (Minx !) who had to contend with a dying breeze but race two was sailed in a fresher conditions and all fleets finished within less than
