About
Portsmouth Sailing Club is a small but flourishing local sailing club that celebrated its Centenary in 2020.
The clubhouse is situated in the heart of Old Portsmouth and is a historic and characterful building that provides the focus for an extensive social programme for sailors and the local community.
The club organises a range of sailing events including a Spring and Autumn yacht racing series (previously known as the 'Parhelion') a Frostbite Series for dinghies and keelboats and increasingly a number of events for the newly formed but extremely active Squib fleet. In addition there is a programme of extremely popular weekend cruising rallies. Full details of the club's programme can be found here - https://www.portsmouthsc.co.uk/events
Members have access to 60m of pontoon and slipway at the entrance to Portsmouth Harbour just inside the historic Town Camber in Old Portsmouth. In 2018 a crane was installed that allows the launching of keelboats, RIBs and tenders - https://www.portsmouthsc.co.uk/article/73494
The club runs two boatyards, the Boom Yard and Wyllie's Garden. The main boatyard is the Boom Yard which is also a great place for a Club BBQ during the summer months with fantastic views across the Eastern Solent.
