A lifetime at sea

PSC hosted an entertaining and fascinating evening talk from Billy "Scratch" Hitchen who as a 14 year old boy from Salcombe ran away to sea. Quite a remarkable story that spanned decades and he had sailed around the world five times before the age of nineteen.
It was a great turn out from PSC members and guests who had the chance to speak with Scratch before and after the event and purchase a signed copy of the Autobiography (see photo) which is also available on Amazon.
Thanks to PSC member Malcolm Hill who met Scratch in Salcombe earlier this year and arranged the visit to Portsmouth and the talk at the club.
