French Rally

The May Bank Holiday Weekend saw seven PSC yachts make their way to Cherbourg for our second rally of the season. Rally Master Peter Guy had clearly managed to put his school boy French language skills to good effect with the harbourmaster's team and we were provided with excellent berths a short walk from the Capitainerie du Port's office and, more importantly, very close to the bar and restaurant! The highlight of the weekend was a meal for twenty-two members on the Saturday night but with excellent sunny weather throughout it was just good to be able to explore Normandy (some visited the light house at Barfleur) and relax in the street cafes and restaurants of Cherbourg. The rally was tremendous fun and club activity at it's best with members enjoying each other's company ashore and supporting each other during the channel crossings; the only item missing was a little breeze - maybe next time!
