Well, what great sailing we had when the wind dropped. We managed to race 6 races in the harbour with Frank and Liz running the racing from Valiant.

We have had 8 entries with up to 24 members afloat. The Tempest Class supplied a support rib offering towing and assistance as required.

We ran 3 classes, Victory Class was won by Jim Downing, Tempest Class was won by Derek Budden and an overall based on YTC 1189 for Victory Class based on Matt's Cert and 950 Tempest based on a modified YR2 of 975 suggested by RORC/RYA.

We are still fine tuning the Tempest figure at the moment. I've chosen YTC rating over PYN (Portsmouth yardstick number) as both Victory and Tempest only have a historical PYN not updated in 24 years whereas the YTC figure is reasonably Current and gave some tight Corrected times that will be available after Xmas. This class was won By Derek Budden in his Tempest Achtung Baby.

Next we have the prize giving this Saturday afternoon. It's not just for sailors, so come along and join in. It's an American buffet so bring a plate of food to share the bar will be open. We have prizes for cruisers and racers.

I will be flying the PSC flag at HSC for the Boxing Day race then we have New Year's Day race in the Harbour for both keelboats and cruisers. Last year we had both of these classes out and it was won by Jim Page in his Victory Seagull. This Year I will be entering in Crazy Horse, my Mustang 30.

See you on the Water!!
