International Tempest Nationals & Keelboat Event

This was an excellent weekend of great racing in a perfect range of conditions. For the International Tempest Association this was their National Championships although numbers were reduced by the impact of COVID-19. Local fleet captain Derek Budden kindly loaned one of his boats to Victory Sailor Jim Downing, who rapidly showed that his sailing skills are transferable - he took six wins out of the seven race series! The local Squib and Victory fleets also completed a series of five races, with the Squibs being particularly competitive; Dan Henderson in Maverick completed the series tied on points with Shaun Hopkins and Janet Dee in Florence but took first place on count - back. In the Victory Class, John Scammell dominated in class boat Z67. results for the Squib and Victory classes here - https://www.portsmouthsc.co.uk/september-keelboat-... and here https://www.portsmouthsc.co.uk/september-keelboat-...
Enormous thanks are due to Chris Smith and Liz Ballard for doing such a great job running the event.
