Things to keep you occupied while 'Locked Down'!

Published 18:51 on 10 Apr 2020

We may not be able get out on the water or into the club for a drink but there are other ways that we can interact with each other and enjoy 'sailing'......

Virtual Racing. Around 20 members have been meeting 'virtually' every evening and competing in a series of short 'computer-generated' races. The simulation is excellent and competitors can find themselves competing at a variety of global venues (including Portsmouth!) and in a variety of boats, ranging from dayboats through to Sail GP catamarans. Sadly the simulation does not yet include Squibs or Victorys! To compete all you need is a smart phone, tablet or desk top computer. More details are here https://www.portsmouthsc.co.uk/racing/virtual-regatta-e-racing-guide

Free Subscription! Just to prove that we're not all about sailing - some members may wish to we apply for a free subscription to Powerboat and Rib Magazine - https://www.powerboatandrib.com/free-digital-editi...

And one for the cruisers . Thanks to Tony Voss for forwarding this from the Cruising Association - an interesting read and if nothing else it proves it's not just us that are living a restricted lifestyle! https://www.theca.org.uk/public/covid_19_cruising_restrictions

And Finally ..

PSC 100th Anniversary Recipe Book. Back in June 2005 a PSC Book Of Recipes was produced to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar. The social team thought it would be fun to compile another recipe book incorporating both the 2005 recipes and some new ones for the 100th anniversary of PSC. The social secretary is looking forward to receiving your recipes - please forward to social@portsmouthsc.co.uk

Stay Home. Protect the NHS. Save lives.
